CEDARVILLE INSTRUCTOR TO PRESENT FLUTE RECITALCedarville, Ohio—On March 25 at 7 p.m. Lori Akins will perform a flute recital in the Recital Hall of the Dixon Ministry Center at Cedarville University. Akins teaches at Cedarville University, Heidelberg University and Wittenberg University as a flute instructor and director of flute choirs. She serves as the principal flutist with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, plays with the Ohio Valley Symphony Orchestra and also performs with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Akins maintains a private studio and performs as a freelance flutist throughout Ohio. At the recital, Akins will present pieces for flute, alto flute and piccolo, accompanied by Timothy Bower on piano. Some of the selections include Bach’s “Sonata in e minor,” Lukas Foss’s “Valentine” and “Three American Pieces” and Ian Clarke’s “The Great Train Race.” Located in Cedarville, Ohio, Cedarville University is an accredited, Christ-centered, Baptist university of arts, sciences, professional and graduate programs.
