Summary: Cedarville University welcomes Jeremy Begbie, Ph.D., to campus on Nov. 21 as part of the Staley Lecture Series. The series is funded by the Thomas F. Staley Foundation and brings renowned Christian speakers from diverse areas of acclaim to encourage and teach college students.Begbie is a musician and minister whose presentation consists of a blend of theological principles and music. He currently teaches systematic theology at Duke University and has written several books, including “Resounding Truth: Christian Wisdom in the World of Music,” which won the Christianity Today 2008 Book Award
Details: Cedarville University welcomes Jeremy Begbie, Ph.D., to campus on Nov. 21 as part of the Staley Lecture Series. The series is funded by the Thomas F. Staley Foundation and brings renowned Christian speakers from diverse areas of acclaim to encourage and teach college students.Begbie is a musician and minister whose presentation consists of a blend of theological principles and music. He currently teaches systematic theology at Duke University and has written several books, including “Resounding Truth: Christian Wisdom in the World of Music,” which won the Christianity Today 2008 Book Award in the Theology/Ethics category. Begbie is a professionally trained musician and has performed expansively as a conductor, oboist and pianist. He has taught and traveled worldwide, mostly in North America, Africa, and the UK, as a speaker and performer.Begbie will speak on “Sound Mix: Live the Difference” during the 10 a.m. chapel service. He will give another presentation entitled “Sounds Uncontainable: Hearing the Resurrection through Music,” at 7 p.m. Both events are located in the Dixon Ministry Center Jeremiah Chapel and are free and open to the public.
