Thousands Of Insurance Agents Get Wrong Notice
(Columbus, OH) -- Thousands of Ohio insurance agents received letters this week, stating their license had been suspended. The letters came from a private company that takes care of scoring, testing and other insurance-related issues for government agencies. Prometric officials claim the mistake was made at the printing company they use and letters should only have gone out to 86-hundred agents, not the over 140-thousand that actually were sent. Agents who have questions regarding the status of their license, should call Prometric or the Insurance Department's licensing division.

The Website includes information for students on polling locations, where to register and how to download absentee ballots. Brunner says the site is also a tool parents can use to help college students vote.

Ohio To Give Greater Protection For Teens In Abusive Relationships
(Columbus, OH) -- Governor Ted Strickland is expected to sign a bill that gives greater protection to teenagers in abusive relationships. The Ohio House yesterday passed a bill that gives judges in juvenile courts the power to give protection orders to teens who have been stalked, assaulted or sexually abused by other juveniles. The Senate passed an amended version of the bill Tuesday.

Unemployment Still Problem Throughout The State
(Cleveland, OH) -- New data shows the unemployment rate isn't improving across Ohio. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported yesterday the region's jobless numbers in January were two-points higher than a year earlier. And the U.S. Labor Department reported Ohio had the tenth highest unemployment in the country at ten-point-eight-percent, which is more than a point higher than the national rate. Ohio's loss of 12-thousand jobs between December and January tied it with Missouri for the most in the country during that period.
